Organise a patch of land for students to plant and grow.

Arrange school trips that help students to understand the importance of caring for the environment, such as a ‘beach clean’ trip, or visiting a recycling centre.

Keep the blinds up in classrooms to make use of the natural light. By allowing the natural light into the classroom, you won’t need to turn the lights on, and can reduce your electricity usage.

Organise school fêtes, and offer parents a stall to sell unwanted toys. This will reduce the amount of plastic going to landfill, and could also be a way to raise money for the school.

Parents can donate old school uniform to the school and it can be sold at a cheap price to raise money for the school or for other good causes.

Have a school nature reserve
Keep a patch of land set aside and let it grow wild! Plant some trees on the land to create a natural environment to encourage wildlife. The students could observe the miniature beasts and bugs that live here and learn more about insects and birds.
