Changes to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE)

The updated requirements for Keeping Children Safe in Education (2023) (KCSIE 2023) have been published and came into force on 1st September 2023. The focus is on online safety, and ensuring that schools have a compliant filter system in place across the entire network and all devices. With the KCSiE updates and Ofsted asking specific questions in terms of filtering, the need for granular data is key which our solution can provide. We are working with lots of schools to help them become compliant, providing the latest filtering technology on the market.

Our internet filtering service is compliant with DfE's latest filtering and monitoring standards. Our software complies with the UK Safer Internet Filtering Standards and all of our data centres are based within the UK, as per the requirements.

Impero is a member of the Internet Watch Foundation and is signed up to the Counter-Terrorism Internet Referral Unit list, which are required to comply with Digital and Technology Standards in Schools and Colleges.

For example, we are able to allow access to Youtube for students but control each aspect of the platform such as blocking the promotional videos and we can disable the chat functionality and block or allow specific channels.
