What are the different Broadband options?

We have several broadband options to cater for any budget and size of school, including Standard Broadband (FTTC), Full Fibre Broadband (FTTP) or Leased Line. We have outlined the differences between each option below.

Standard Broadband (FTTC)

FTTC stands for ‘Fibre to the Cabinet’ and is a fast broadband option providing up to 80 Mbps for downloads and 20 Mbs for uploads. It uses a combination of fibre and copper cables to deliver broadband into the premises via existing copper telephone wires.

Full-Fibre broadband (FTTP)

FTTP is ‘Fibre to the Premise’ which is a true full fibre connection directly to your school. FTTP provides the fastest broadband speed available, at a potential 1000Mbps download speed.

Leased Line

Leased Line is a full-fibre, private internet connection that serves your school only. This means that your internet connection speed won’t be affected by other users at peak times. This is the best available broadband, providing lightening fast speeds of up to 10Gb/s. Leased Lines also provide higher security and dedicated support & maintenance than other broadband options.
